Parents Ride Guide For Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! Drop Height Disneyland

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is an exhilarating attraction in Disneyland Resort’s Disney California Adventure Park. It features a thrilling drop tower experience that simulates the feeling of free-falling. This can be a little scary. While the building is just under 200 feet tall, you aren’t dropping from the top to the bottom just once.

While the largest drop is around 130 feet, it’s a quick drop, and it’s done and over. This can be a more intense ride for kids, and while there is no age rating, there are a few things to consider.

It is dark, has loud noises and huge drops, and the ride height requirement is only 40 inches.

To be honest, a 40-inch toddler might not love this ride at all. Our daughter, for example, hates this ride, and so does her father. So, to each their own. Let’s dive deeper into the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disneyland drop height and what to consider when deciding to put your toddler or child on this ride.

BUT I will say Disney has the highest safety standards around when it comes to theme parks.

Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Disneyland Drop Height

  • The drop height on Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! Varies throughout the ride.
  • Guests experience multiple drops ranging from approximately 30 to 130 feet.
  • These drops are sudden and can be intense, especially for younger or more sensitive riders.

Parent’s Guide:

Height Requirement:

The minimum height requirement for this ride is 40 inches (102 cm). Make sure your child meets this requirement before boarding, we highly suggest measuring them at home first to get a general idea of how tall they are. A cast member will check your child’s height if it is close at the beginning of the entrance and again before you enter the ride vehicles.

You can walk up to any of the measuring sticks at the entrance of the ride queue to see how tall your child is.

Ride Intensity:

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is known for its fast-paced action, loud music, and sudden drops. It may not be suitable for all children, especially those who are afraid of heights or prone to motion sickness.

I would put this in the thrill rides category because of a few of those factors.

Rider Swap Option:

If you’re visiting with a child who doesn’t meet the height requirement or isn’t comfortable riding knowing the Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Disneyland Drop Height, consider using the Rider Swap option.

We love Disney’s rider swap option.

It allows one adult to wait with the non-riding child while the other adult enjoys the attraction, then switch without having to wait in line again.

Prepare Your Child:

Now its time to prepare your child for the Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Disneyland Drop Height. Before boarding the ride, talk to your child about what to expect. Tell them about the drops and reassure them they’ll be safe with you. If they’re feeling anxious, consider watching a ride-through video together to familiarize them with the experience.

Use your discretion when it comes to deciding what rides to put your child on. While some children do great on roller coasters, dark rides can be completely different and not something they are comfortable with.

While we typically encourage our daughter to get on every ride, we do think there are certain things to consider.

For example, our daughter LOVES Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but she hates loud noises and dark, so Space Mointian is NOT an option at this point, even though the roller coaster aspect is very similar.

It’s important to know what your child likes and doesn’t; the last thing you want to have happen is for them to never want to get back on a ride again because they are too scared from their last experience.

Stay Together:

While on the ride, make sure to sit together as a family and hold onto each other for added comfort and support. If you’ve been on the ride before, try talking to them about what is going on along the way.

We are going up, now we will bounce and drop a little, and oh, now the doors are opening up, and we will drop again.

Help them along the way, giving them encouraging words. Tell them they are doing a great job, and you are proud that they concurred with their fears and are trying something new.

Post-Ride Check-In:

After the ride, check in with your child to see how they’re feeling.

Offer praise and encouragement for their bravery, and be prepared to provide comfort if they found the experience challenging and not fun like you would have hoped.

The after can be the most impactful, especially when it comes to Guardians of the Galaxy Ride Disneyland Drop Height. It is a weird feeling to have your stomach in your throat and this might be the first experience children have with this feeling. Check to make sure they are good, enjoyed the ride and encourage them with lots of praise for trying something new!
