We will break down all areas of the park so you can pick and choose as you go, but we will make a special section for the best food at Universal Studios Hollywood Upper Lot and Universal Studios Hollywood Lower Lot.
Best Places to eat at Universal Studios Hollywood
The best food at Universal Studios Hollywood can be found at a few spots within the park, and while we will encourage you to try these top spots first, we hope you find something great at each spot on our list.

Best Things to do at Universal Studios Hollywood
All Food Locations in the Upper Lot
The upper lot is made up of four main areas. Springfield U.S.A., Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hollywood Street, New York.
Power Up Cafe
The new Power Up Cafe opened in early 2024 during the 1-year celebration of Super Nintendo World.
Discover the newest culinary gem at Universal Studios Hollywood – the Power Up Cafe! Tucked away in the upper lot on New York Street, this Super Nintendo World-inspired restaurant is a must-visit for any foodie adventurer. While Toadstool Cafe might be a crowd favorite, Power Up Cafe offers a delightful alternative without the hassle of long lines.
Indulge in iconic Super Mario-themed dishes like the 1-Up Mushroom Calzone and Fire Flower Pretzel, paired perfectly with refreshing drinks like the Super Mushroom Fizz. Trust me, the flavors are out of this world! Just be sure to stir the sugar mushroom well before sipping to avoid any surprises.
What to Order
- 1-up Mushroom Calzone
- Fire Flower Pretzel – soft pretzel with three dipping sauces
- Super Star Popcorn Cup
- Specialty Fizz Drink
Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Nestled in the heart of Hogsmeade, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter boasts an array of delightful dining options to satisfy your culinary cravings. As a Harry Potter fan, this is where you will find everything food-based. Butterbeer, Ice Cream, Pumpkin juice, Sweet treats, and Chocolate frogs are the perfect ways to enjoy the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Three Broomsticks
This cozy, rustic restaurant, located in Hogsmeade, offers a delectable menu of British and wizarding world-inspired dishes, making it a must-visit for Potterheads and food enthusiasts alike.
From traditional fare like Fish and Chips to the mouthwatering Butterbeer, you can savor a taste of the wizarding world while taking in the enchanting ambiance.
The attention to detail, from the wooden beams to the magical decor, immerses you in the Harry Potter universe. While it can get crowded, especially during peak times, there is seating outside as well, and it has a perfect view of the castle.
- I’m not a meat person, and a roasted chicken dinner plate is just not something I want to order out in the real world/in a theme park. But all the other bloggers and tubers of the world have all said these two things are the most delicious and completely worth it.
- While you can stand in line and get a Butterbeer outside at one of the Butterbeer carts, you can get mead, butter beer, and other specialty drinks inside when you get your meal or walk in and order.
- Mobile orders are available at this location.
What to Order
- Turkey Leg
- Fish and Chips
- Butterbeer
- Shepherd’s Pie
- The Great Feast
Honeydukes and Floean Fortescure’s Ice Cream
The entire menu is soft-serve ice cream and sweet treats. For all your sweet treats and candies, this is the perfect spot to pick up any of your specialized Harry Potter sugary treats.
This is the spot to pick up one of the famous chocolate frogs, Giant pink cupcakes, Cauldron cake, sugar cookies, butterbeer fudge, and sticky toffee pudding.
A portion of the store has been taken over to be an ice cream shop, where you can order butterbeer ice cream in a souvenir cup.
The souvenir cup is great and all and the Sugar Cone is AMAZING!
Butterbeer Cart
You can get your Butterbeer fix from one of the Butterbeer carts outside, where you can get hot, cold, or frozen Butterbeer.
- Hot Butterbeer
- Cold Butterbeer
- Frozen Butterbeer
Hog’s Head
Hogs Head is attached to Three Broomsticks. If the Butterbeer cart is busy, head inside the Hogs Head Bar and pick up a Butterbeer, Mead, and other brews.
They typically have seasonal drinks and additional options to pick up, and it is almost never busy inside. My typical order from Three Broomsticks is the Honey Mead or Holiday/Theme Mead, if they have one, and a frozen Butterbeer. Frozen is wonderful, especially on a hot day, and hot is perfect for those cooler nights.
The Butterbeer is not alcoholic; Mead is alcoholic and now comes in a can instead of the original tap. You cannot order food at the bar, but you can make a mobile order or head into the main dining area to eat or find a spot by the castle.
Minion Cafe
The Minion Café at Universal Studios Hollywood is a whimsical dining experience that caters to fans of the mischievous Minions from the “Despicable Me” franchise. The cafe captures the playful spirit of these beloved characters, both in its decor and menu. The last time I was there, I got the pork ramen, and it was very yummy with a rich, creamy broth. I was pleasantly surprised by the ramen. I also ordered the bite-size churros. They were good but a little hard for churros. Mobile orders are available at this location.

This bustling food court offers diverse culinary delights to satisfy every craving. From gourmet burgers to fresh salads and international cuisine, there’s something for every palate. Enjoy your meal al fresco while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the park.
I will note that this location is heavy with BBQ sauce; I am not a fan. While I will suggest specific items that are BBQ, I had to lean on others for that information as I will not eat BBQ sauce.

The diner offers a fun and nostalgic atmosphere that will transport you to a bygone era with its retro decor, checkered floors, and jukeboxes. The menu features classic diner dishes, delectable burgers, and amazing milkshakes that will satisfy your cravings while you soak up the ambiance. The diner is perfect for families and anyone looking to experience a slice of Americana while enjoying a scrumptious meal.

It’s a fun and tasty stop for fans of the show and those seeking a lighthearted dining experience.
- My personal opinion: It used to be great, but that was before Three Broomsticks, Minion Cafe, and Toadstool Cafe came around. Now if you are a Homer Simpson fan or have to try out one of the Lard Lad donuts, this is a must-stop.
- Don’t forget to wash it down with a refreshing specialty cocktials, Buzz Cola or a Duff Beer.
Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck
Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Springfield with Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck. Serving up mouthwatering tacos inspired by the beloved character from “The Simpsons,” this food truck offers a variety of tasty options for both fans and foodies alike. From classic carne asada to vegetarian delights, enjoy a quick and delicious bite while exploring the park.
The best part about the taco truck is that it’s located inside Duff’s Beer Garden and there are a lot of tables and chairs around this area. This area is typically shaded for most of the day so its a perfect way to escape the heat and enjoy a cold beer and some delicious tacos.

Super Nintendo World
The Mushroom Kingdom currently has one sit-down restaurant and one snack cart in the area. Toadstool is the most “themed” restaurant that Universal Studios Hollywood has. As the newest sit-down addition, this is a must-do when you visit Super Nintendo World in the lower lot.
Toadstool Cafe
The Adorable Cafe Toad.
Universal Studios Hollywood has a restaurant that offers one of the best dining experiences. The restaurant has an amazing theme and presents its food in a unique way. It is recommended to head down to the lower lot first thing and reserve a table through the QR code as they fill up quickly.
The interior of the restaurant is adorable, with a mushroom entrance, power-up band mini gifts in the waiting line, and a little chef toad working behind the team members. After ordering, you will receive a number and make your way to your seat, leaving the number at the edge of the table for easy table tracking.
The dining room theme is impressive, featuring a small show that takes over the entire room. The TVs and lights dim, making it look like the toads are in trouble. You must visit the restaurant to discover more details and try their delicious food.
But before I leave you, you must order the Princess Peach Cupcake. This raspberry-filled funfetti cupcake has buttercream frosting and a princess peach chocolate crown. It is by far the best-tasting cupcake in the park and also absolutely beautiful to look at.
